I was very pleased to be asked to teach a sound design workshop at both EMErgence 2013 and 2014. My workshop centered around using everyday objects to create sound effects and music. I have built a large collections of “instruments” from items I found in a junk yard. When I first started writing music I did not have the funds needed to own synthesizers but I understood how sounds worked and were created so I samples junk, clipped waveform samples and created my own sample based synths. The most important tools an artist has at their disposal is their knowledge, creativity and drive.
